About Us
MARINE ASSIST ASSOCIATION, Inc. was the bold idea which, a group of tow boat operators came up with.
We were distraught over the sale of the company who provided most of our income and the knowledge our contracts would all be non-renewed sooner or later. Then the thought of how much time, effort and money we had spent to grow our local area businesses came to mind, not to mention the cost of equipment and insurance.
The realization set in that something had to be done, but what? Most of us had decided to stay on as independent towers, but it would be a long tough road ahead.
It started simply. We decided we should band together and attempt to sell ourselves as a small group, providing service uniformly up and down the Florida coast with one name and a commitment to providing the best service at a reasonable price. Eventually, people would get to know the name and maybe, if we could hold on, we could stay in business.
The problem was, who would we tow at first? There was no customer base other than the one that we, ourselves, had created.
So, around the coffee table we sat until a solid business plan was hammered out, one that made sense, one where no one person could again, sell the "mother" business and change the lives of so many.
It would be an association, made up of a board of elected towers, for the betterment of it's member towers.
The association would seek out commercial accounts, insurance accounts and large corporate entities to affiliate with, all for the benefit of the association's membership.
It would be a nationwide corporate entity itself, so that it would be powerful enough to charge into the market before all the towers we are trying to help, had given up and while talk of the other company being sold was still news on the street.
It would have a name which, when saying it, would explain what we do.
It would have a uniform color, logo and lettering scheme.
It would provide actual benefits for its member towers
beyond just providing someone to tow.
It would provide a year end bonus program to it's members in good standing.
It would not be a franchise, although member towers would receive the benefit of a national and local advertising program and boat show representation.
Member towers would be assigned a protected service area.
Sound too good to be true? Guess again!!
IT'S HERE !!!
We currently have member towers signed up all along the Eastern seaboard and some in the Great Lakes. We are, however, still interested in adding to our membership base of Service Providers. We need marine recovery business operators, Nationwide.
If you are interested in joining with us in what is destined to be the best marine towing association out there, fill out the form and send it to us. We'll send you back a non-disclosure agreement to sign and a package containing more information on how to join.
